This is the beach-bag peshtemal. Instead of heavy terry loops, an open, crinkled gauze lets air move through the fabric, so it dries quickly after a swim and does not add damp weight to your tote. Sand shakes off the flat surface easily, and the towel rolls down to about 6 inches to fit a carry-on, gym bag or pool basket.
Each towel is pre-washed for a soft, crinkled texture from the first use. Fine pinstripes in Blue, Black or Red run the full length of the ivory ground, finished with a solid woven border and hand-twisted fringe at the ends. Off the sand it serves as a sarong, a picnic cloth or a light throw.

FAQHow is muslin different from a regular peshtemal?
Both are flat-woven with no terry loops. The muslin version uses finer yarn in an airier, crinkled gauze weave, so it is lighter, drapes more softly and dries faster than a classic peshtemal.
Is it good as a beach towel?Yes. The open gauze dries quickly after a swim, sand shakes off the flat surface, and the towel rolls to about 6 inches, so it fits a tote or carry-on without the bulk of a terry beach towel.
Will the crinkle texture wash out?No. The crinkle comes from the weave and the pre-washing, not from pressing. It relaxes slightly with use but stays part of the fabric, so there is no need to iron the towel.
Is it absorbent enough to use after a shower?Yes. The 100% Turkish cotton muslin absorbs water quickly despite its light weight and dries much faster than terry, so it works as a bath wrap as well as a beach towel.
