Is muslin warm enough for winter?

Yes, in the heavier builds. Air trapped between layers insulates, so the 8-layer quilt and coverlet work in cool months, while 2 and 4-layer pieces stay breathable in summer.

How do I wash muslin?

Machine wash cold, up to 30°C (86°F), on a gentle cycle with similar colors and no bleach, then tumble dry low or line dry. No ironing is needed. Expect about 3 to 5 percent shrinkage on the first wash.
